Meet Our EOV Operations Coodinator

Sheila Cooke • May 04, 2021

We are delighted to have Aoife Corcoran working with us this Summer as an EOV Operations Coordinator.

A Self Introduction

I am Aoife Corcoran, a master’s student from University College Cork, Ireland, who is currently working as an EOV Operations Coordinator with 3LM.

From growing up on small dairy farm in Kerry, rural Ireland, I have seen first-hand how ours and other farms in Ireland and the U.K have suffered the consequences of climate change. From witnessing this effect throughout my early life, I gained an interest into wanting to help in the efforts towards stopping the climate change process. This interest has grown through my undergraduate studies in Geography and Psychology, where I gained a broader understanding of the world and how people interacted within it. I have an interest in helping change the current practices to create a secure food system and a sustainable future. By working with 3LM I hope to start helping to create this change and be able to make a difference.

This summer I will be completing a thesis on the profile and motivations of farmers who are changing from traditional agricultural practices to regenerative agriculture.

For this thesis I will be making a survey where I will need the assistance of members of the farming community to contribute through filling it out. I will also be looking for participants to complete short interviews. This survey will be sent to farmers within the 3LM network, and I would be grateful to any response I receive.

I express sincere gratitude to Allan Savory and George Monbiot for your courage and stamina to debate in public the urgent issues of our day. You stimulated our thinking, and this gives me hope. – Sheila Cooke
