The Regenerative Italian Job

Sheila Cooke • Apr 05, 2023

Colin & Chrissy took Holistic Management training about 4 years ago and they are looking for help on their regenerative agritourism farm (in the making) in Sicily. Colin was injured in an accident as a child and is paralyzed, and yet he has the most positive outlook on life I have ever witnessed. If this opportunity suits you, I highly recommend it. Please contact Colin & Chrissy directly.

Hi Sheila,

Since we last spoke we have been working on an agritourism farm in Sicily for our friends for the last four years. As time progressed we were given more responsibilities, so having completed a masters in rural tourism and with 4 years working on an agritourism farm under our belt, we feel ready to take on our own business.

Anyway, the exciting thing is we can start applying holistic management to our small farm and start to regenerate our land, so 2023 will be a very exciting year for us.

Due to our context Chrissy and I are going to need somebody who can not only help set/build up our farm, but to also help us to manage our enterprises on a daily basis. Ideally we would like someone who has been through your training and who could commit to a minimum of a year. In the first year we would cover living costs and share all planning, financial and management material with the person who helps us, so that they can take away all the skills and tools they require to start their own small farm. In year two we plan to pay a small salary as well as accommodation.

Many thanks in advance,

Colin and Chrissy

At the end of October, Pollardine Farm in Shropshire hosted the 3LM one day Low Stress Livestock Handling course, conducted by Miriam Parker, a livestock behaviourist and independent consultant. I express sincere gratitude to Allan Savory and George Monbiot for your courage and stamina to debate in public the urgent issues of our day. You stimulated our thinking, and this gives me hope. – Sheila Cooke
